Freelancer.com lists $1 withdrawals for Express Withdrawal, PayPal, Skrill and Payoneer, and $25 for wire transfers. Your account determines which methods, currencies and limits are available.

If you use more than one platform, our complete guide on how Filipino freelancers get paid compares every major option in one place.

How Freelancer.com milestone payments work

Freelancer.com uses milestone payments to protect both you and your client.

Step 1: The client creates a milestone

Before or during a project, the client creates a milestone payment for an agreed amount. The money is set aside, which shows the client is serious and the funds exist.

Step 2: You complete the work

You deliver the work tied to that milestone and ask the client to review it through the project chat. Larger projects are often split into several milestones, so you get paid as you go instead of waiting until the very end.

Step 3: The client releases the milestone

When the client releases a milestone, the funds move to your balance. Project fees are separate: the published fixed-price fee is 10% or $5, whichever is greater, when the award is accepted. Hourly projects are charged 10% on payments. Review Freelancer.com's fee schedule.

Step 4: You request a withdrawal

With the money in your balance, you can request a withdrawal using any method available in your location. Depending on the method, you may need to complete identity verification, known as KYC, first.

A funded milestone is not the same as an available balance. Withdrawal also depends on release and any account checks.

Withdrawal methods available

Open Withdraw funds to see the methods available to your account. The main options are bank transfers and payment wallets.

PayPal, Payoneer and Skrill: The fee schedule lists $1 per withdrawal, with a standard $50 minimum after fees. Conversion and onward-transfer charges come from the receiving provider.

Wire transfer: Freelancer.com lists a $25 fee and a $500 minimum for wires. Allow for possible intermediary and receiving-bank charges.

Express Withdrawal: Freelancer.com's official guide lists a $1 fee, a $50 minimum, and Philippine PHP and US USD bank destinations. Delivery usually takes two to three business days. Some institutions take three to five. Your first withdrawal has a 15-day delay before processing.

For a method with a $50 minimum after fees and a $1 charge, you need at least $51 available. Wire transfers have a separate $500 minimum. Check the total debit before submitting.

Step-by-step withdrawal walkthrough

Part 1: Prepare your account

  1. Complete the verification requested for your account and withdrawal method.

  2. Make sure released milestone funds are available and cover both the withdrawal minimum and fee.

Part 2: Choose an available withdrawal method

  1. Click your profile picture in the main menu and select Withdraw funds.

  2. Select the bank or wallet method offered to your account.

  3. For Payoneer, sign in to link your Payoneer account. For a wire, enter your bank's details, including account number and SWIFT code, exactly as your bank provides them.

  4. Enter the amount and submit your request.

  5. Track the status in your transaction history.

Part 3: Receive USD in Elevate Pay

  1. Apply for Elevate Pay and complete the checks in the Philippines account-opening guide.

  2. Copy your US account details. In the app, find your account number, ACH routing number and account holder name.

  3. In Withdraw funds, check whether Express Withdrawal offers a US USD destination for your account. Before entering Elevate Pay details, confirm with Freelancer.com that the payment will use ACH. Keep your actual Philippine address on your profile.

  4. Complete the verification requested for the bank method and wait for approval.

  5. Select the approved method, enter the amount and submit the withdrawal. Receiving ACH is free, and the USD stays in your account until you choose to convert.

  6. When you need pesos, select a Philippine payout destination in Elevate Pay. PHP transfers cost a flat $1.50 fee.

Choose the ACH route, not a wire, when both are offered. Contact Elevate Pay support in the app if the transfer type is unclear.

Elevate Pay is a fintech company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by Merchants Commercial Bank, Member FDIC.

Common Freelancer.com withdrawal problems

Your balance is below the minimum: Check the minimum and fee on the selected method. The public standard minimum is $50 after fees, and individual methods can have different limits.

Your withdrawal method is not showing: Freelancer.com's withdrawal options depend on your location and verification status. If a method you expected is missing, complete all verification steps first, then check the Withdraw funds page again.

Your wire arrived with less money: Intermediary banks can deduct fees from wires before they reach you, and your bank may add its own incoming fee. This is normal for international wires, and it is one reason ACH is usually cheaper when available.

Your name or details do not match: Your withdrawal account name should match your verified Freelancer.com name. Typos in account numbers, routing numbers or SWIFT codes can cause rejected or delayed transfers.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my Freelancer.com withdrawal pending?

A first withdrawal has a 15-day delay before processing. Also check verification, security reviews and the expected processing date. If that date passes, contact Freelancer.com support with the withdrawal reference.

Can I withdraw Freelancer.com earnings to GCash?

Use a withdrawal method supported by your account first. If the funds arrive in PayPal or Payoneer, GCash supports linked-account cash-in. See PayPal to GCash or Payoneer to GCash.

Can a Philippine Freelancer.com account pay a US ACH account?

Freelancer.com lists US/USD as an Express Withdrawal destination. Confirm the ACH route for your account first, as described in Part 3. Keep your Philippine profile details. A US receiving account does not change your residency.
