Check the clearing date in your PeoplePerHour Payments section before planning a withdrawal. Once funds are available, allow up to two working days for processing, plus delivery time to your bank or wallet.
Check your balance and clearing date
PeoplePerHour handles client payments and deducts its service fee before you withdraw. Keep that fee separate from withdrawal and conversion charges when comparing routes.
PeoplePerHour's payment guidance says clearance can take approximately 14 working days, while its terms state 14 days after buyer approval and describe shorter periods for some higher-earning freelancers. Because the wording differs, use the clearing date shown in your Payments section.
Your account can hold GBP, EUR and USD balances. Check the balance currency and the receiving account currency before requesting a withdrawal.
Withdrawal options for Filipino freelancers
PeoplePerHour lets you withdraw your funds to PayPal, Payoneer or a bank account. You can also leave money in your account to buy proposal credits or services.
PayPal: After a PayPal payout, review PayPal's conversion quote and any onward withdrawal fee. Converting a foreign-currency balance to PHP is separate from PeoplePerHour's withdrawal charge.
Payoneer: A Payoneer account works in a specific currency. PeoplePerHour notes that you need to withdraw to the matching currency. If your Payoneer account is in USD and your earnings are in GBP, you must convert those funds first, which adds a conversion cost.
Bank account: Bank delivery depends on the route. PeoplePerHour lists one to three working days for local transfers and three to seven working days for international transfers after processing, with some international transfers taking longer.
US ACH and Elevate Pay: PeoplePerHour's withdrawal-method instructions label ACH Bank “USA only,” so check eligibility for your profile first (see Step 2). Once approved, you receive USD in Elevate Pay and convert to pesos when you choose.
Payout currencies and delivery times
PeoplePerHour displays the withdrawal fee for your chosen route before submission. The times below start after earnings have cleared and PeoplePerHour has processed the request.
Method | Currency to check | Delivery after processing | Conversion cost |
|---|---|---|---|
PayPal | PayPal balance currency | Usually within minutes after processing | PayPal's conversion quote |
Payoneer | Must match the Payoneer balance currency | Usually within minutes after processing | Extra conversion if your balance and Payoneer currency differ |
Philippine bank account | Currency accepted by your bank | Local: 1–3 working days. International: 3–7 working days, sometimes longer | Bank's exchange rate and possible incoming fees |
US ACH (check eligibility) | USD | Arrival date shown for the bank payout | Free to receive by ACH. A flat $1.50 fee to send PHP |
Avoid double conversion: With GBP earnings, converting to USD and later to PHP creates two currency exchanges. Compare that total with a route that converts GBP directly to PHP.
Step by step
Step 1: Check which currency your funds are in
Open Payments, check your GBP, EUR and USD balances, and confirm that the funds have cleared.
Step 2: Set up your destination
For PayPal or Payoneer: Link your account and check your Payoneer currency matches the balance you plan to withdraw.
For Elevate Pay, first confirm with PeoplePerHour that your Philippines-registered profile can use US ACH. Then follow the Philippines account-opening guide and copy your account number, ACH routing number and account holder name.
Step 3: Add your withdrawal details
Follow PeoplePerHour's setup instructions: select your profile photo, Settings, then Payments. Add your own bank or wallet account. If ACH is unavailable for your profile, choose another supported payout method.
Step 4: Request the withdrawal
Use the Withdraw Funds link in your Payments section. Select your method, enter the amount and confirm.
Step 5: Wait for processing
Once funds have cleared, PeoplePerHour says it can take up to two working days to process a request. Its withdrawal guidance then lists separate delivery times for each route.
Step 6: Receive and move your money
Track the transfer in Transactions. For an approved ACH payout to Elevate Pay, you can keep the received USD or send pesos to GCash or a Philippine bank. PHP transfers cost a flat $1.50 fee.
Elevate Pay is a fintech company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by Merchants Commercial Bank, Member FDIC.
Common PeoplePerHour withdrawal problems
Your withdrawal is taking longer than expected: First check whether the funds are still clearing. If the withdrawal itself remains unprocessed beyond the stated processing window, contact PeoplePerHour with the request reference.
Your Payoneer withdrawal was rejected: Check for a currency mismatch and any verification issue. PeoplePerHour says withdrawals must match the currency of the linked Payoneer account.
Your bank charged an incoming fee: Ask the bank to identify the charge and check the total cost of another supported payout method before your next withdrawal.
Your name does not match: Use your verified name on the receiving account. For a missing ACH payment to Elevate Pay, contact Elevate Pay support in the app with the transfer confirmation.
You lost money on a conversion you did not plan: Converting a GBP or EUR balance to USD, then converting again to PHP, means paying two margins. Before converting inside PeoplePerHour, check whether your destination can accept the original currency or whether a single conversion later would cost less.
Frequently asked questions
Can I withdraw PeoplePerHour earnings to GCash?
PeoplePerHour does not list GCash as a direct method. After receiving a supported payout in PayPal or Payoneer, use GCash's linked-account cash-in. Follow PayPal to GCash or Payoneer to GCash.
How can I avoid losing money on currency conversion?
Choose a payout currency that matches your receiving account where possible, then compare the final PHP amounts. For example, USD to USD avoids a conversion on receipt. You can convert to pesos later when you need them.
