With an existing Payoneer balance, you can cash in to eZ Cash in rupees or withdraw to a bank. Wallet limits make eZ Cash more useful for smaller payouts. Check Payoneer directly for new-account eligibility in Sri Lanka.

Dialog charges no fee to receive. Payoneer's conversion and account fees still affect the final amount.

For a broader look at every withdrawal option, read our complete guide on how Sri Lankan freelancers get paid.

Check your eZ Cash limits first

Check the limit shown in your eZ Cash app before requesting a cash-in. Dialog's inward remittance page states that a Classic account can receive up to Rs 50,000 per transaction and per day, while a Power account can receive up to Rs 150,000. It also states that you receive money only in rupees.

At a sample rate of Rs 331 per dollar, a Classic wallet tops out at roughly $150 per day and a Power wallet at roughly $450. For a larger payout, a bank withdrawal is the practical route.

Dialog's own pages are not fully consistent on wallet limits, so treat the limit shown in your app as the one that applies.

Cash in from Payoneer

Payoneer's eZ Cash instructions describe the flow from the eZ Cash side.

  1. Open the eZ Cash app and select Payoneer as the source.

  2. Enter the amount you want to withdraw from Payoneer in US dollars.

  3. Confirm the request and wait for the SMS.

  4. Check your wallet balance. Dialog credits the account in rupees.

Payoneer does not publish a fee, minimum, maximum or timing for this route. Use the figures shown on screen before you confirm.

Do not share your password or one-time code with another person. Enter them only in the official app or sign-in flow.

Payoneer and eZ Cash fees

Dialog's remittance page states there is no additional charge for receiving, but adds that standard eZ Cash charges apply when you withdraw the money. Those come from Dialog's published tariff:

  • Cash-out at an eZ Cash retailer is tiered, from Rs 25 for small amounts up to Rs 250 at the top of the published range.

  • Cash-out at a Commercial Bank ATM is tiered, from Rs 30 up to Rs 80, and the published ATM range stops at Rs 25,000.

  • Transfers between eZ Cash wallets are free, and a Classic wallet registration costs Rs 100.

The ATM range is narrower than the wallet: a Classic wallet can receive up to Rs 50,000, but Dialog's published ATM cash-out tiers stop at Rs 25,000. Receive a full Rs 50,000 and you cannot pull it out at an ATM in one go. Plan for two withdrawals, or use a retailer, where the published tiers run higher.

The annual account fee is the one to check. Payoneer's annual account fee guidance, checked on 22 September 2026, lists a $29.95 annual account fee where 12 months pass without receiving $6,000 or the equivalent in payments. Payoneer lists Sri Lanka under this criterion, effective 23 February 2026.

That threshold catches more people than it first appears. A freelancer billing $500 a month reaches exactly $6,000 across a year, so steady earners can still fall under it in a slow year. Check your own 12-month receipts rather than assuming regular activity exempts you. Payoneer's general pricing page still shows an older, lower figure, so use the help centre article for anything country-specific.

Payoneer's pricing page lists $1.50 to withdraw to a local bank in the same currency, up to 3% to withdraw in a different currency, and a 0.5% surcharge when monthly withdrawals and payments exceed $50,000.

Work out the final rupee amount

The table above compares account features, not final payout quotes. For a fair route comparison, start with the same USD payment and compare each provider's final rupee amount at the same time, including fees and its actual exchange rate. A fee percentage alone does not show the full cost.

Example: At a sample rate of Rs 331 per dollar, compare a $1.50 flat fee with a hypothetical 2% charge. Both are deducted from the same starting budget before conversion. Platform and account charges are excluded.

Calculation: For $1,000, the flat-fee route converts $998.50. The 2% route converts $980. Multiply each by Rs 331 to compare the rupee amounts.

Run the numbers yourself

  1. Check the final LKR amount for a Payoneer eZ Cash cash-in or bank withdrawal without confirming it.

  2. For future earnings paid by ACH to Elevate Pay, compare the final LKR amount after the $1.50 fee and any platform payout charge.

  3. Choose the route that gives you the preferred rupee amount and arrival time. Moving an existing Payoneer balance is a separate transaction with its own charges.

Common Payoneer-to-eZ Cash problems

The transfer exceeds your wallet limit

A Classic account receives up to Rs 50,000 per transaction and per day. If your payout is larger, split it or withdraw to a bank instead. Upgrading to a Power account raises the limit to Rs 150,000.

Why is the cash-in not working?

Check your available Payoneer balance, your wallet space and your remaining allowance. Example: with a Rs 50,000 daily receiving limit and Rs 40,000 already received today, you have room for only Rs 10,000. Verify both accounts are active and in your own name.

If the status remains pending, avoid submitting a duplicate request. Contact Dialog or Payoneer with the transaction reference and confirmation details.

Receiving future earnings in USD: Give platforms or clients your Elevate Pay ACH details, receive in USD and convert to rupees when you choose. Service export proceeds must reach Sri Lanka within 180 days of providing the service; see how Sri Lankan freelancers get paid. Receiving ACH is free, and LKR transfers cost a flat $1.50 fee. The maximum is $5,000 per transfer, so a larger amount goes as more than one transfer. Follow the Sri Lanka account-opening guide to get started, or contact our support team in the app.

Elevate Pay is a fintech company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by Merchants Commercial Bank, Member FDIC.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a bank account between Payoneer and eZ Cash?

No. Dialog lists Payoneer as a direct inward remittance partner, so the wallet is credited without a bank in between. A bank withdrawal is a separate route and suits larger amounts better.

Is Payoneer to eZ Cash completely free?

Dialog charges no fee to receive. Standard eZ Cash charges apply when you take the money out, and Payoneer's conversion margin and any account fee still affect your total cost.

Ready to cash in

Review the final rupee amount and your available limits, then confirm one request and wait for its status before trying again. For other routes, see PayPal in Sri Lanka and Upwork withdrawals.

How we checked this

We checked Dialog's eZ Cash remittance and pricing pages and Payoneer's annual account fee guidance and pricing page on 21–22 September 2026. The annual fee threshold is taken from Payoneer's help centre article, which names Sri Lanka, rather than its general pricing page, which still shows an older figure. Payoneer publishes no fee, minimum or timing for the eZ Cash route, and Dialog's own pages differ on wallet limits, so both gaps are disclosed above. The comparison calculations use an illustrative rate, not live offers, and no cash-in was performed. Your account's fee schedule, wallet limits and final quote determine your actual result.
