If you’re a security researcher earning through BugCrowd and want to receive payments via Elevate Pay, you’ll first need to verify your identity and income. This process is required to keep your account secure and to meet financial regulations.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the exact documents you need based on your country of residence. Whether you’re in Pakistan, Bangladesh, or Egypt, you’ll find everything you need to get verified quickly and avoid delays.

While BugCrowd manages bounties and payouts, Elevate Pay handles verification separately. This means you must upload specific documents before you can activate your Elevate Pay account.

What Do You Need to Provide?

To set up your Elevate Pay account, you’ll need three types of documents:

  1. Proof of Income

  2. Proof of Address

  3. Proof of Identity

The exact acceptable documents can vary slightly depending on your country.

What Makes a Document Acceptable?

For your Elevate Pay verification to go smoothly, make sure that:

  • Your full name and address appear clearly on the document.

  • Bank statements are no older than 90 days.

  • You upload original PDFs or scanned copies, not mobile screenshots.

  • All IDs are valid (not expired).

  • The details on your ID must match your BugCrowd account information.

What is “Proof of Income” on BugCrowd?

When you complete work on BugCrowd, your payments are processed through the platform’s payout system. As part of your Elevate Pay verification, you’ll need to provide a document that shows your earnings and engagement with BugCrowd.

This can be:

  • A BugCrowd payout confirmation PDF

  • A bounty report or earnings statement

You can download these directly from your BugCrowd dashboard under the Payouts section. These serve as your official proof of income.

Your document should ideally include:

  • Your name

  • BugCrowd as the paying entity

  • Transaction/payment details

  • Confirmation of funds earned

Country-Specific Requirements

Document Preparation Tips

To avoid delays:

  • Make sure all documents are high-quality scans or photos (no blurry edges, glare, or cropping).

  • Save everything in PDF format when possible.

  • Double-check that your BugCrowd account details (name, address) match the documents you upload.

  • Use documents that are recent and valid; expired IDs or old bills will not be accepted.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Submitting expired IDs

  • Uploading cropped or partial images of documents

  • Providing documents with name mismatches (e.g., BugCrowd profile name ≠ ID name)

  • Using proof of address without the full name and address visible
